Originally from the UK, Tom (TJ) is a highly skilled Mechanical Fitter with over 9 years of experience in maintenance, fabrication, and machine fitting across the manufacturing sector. Since joining Techtrade nearly two years ago, he has successfully completed a wide range of assignments in maintenance fitting, light fabrication, and machine building for our clients, receiving consistently excellent feedback. Prior to relocating to New Zealand, he completed an Advanced Level 3 Apprenticeship in Mechanical Maintenance and worked extensively on aluminium extrusion presses, hydraulic and pneumatic systems, motors, gearboxes, and conveyors. TJ is known for his technical skill, problem-solving abilities, and reliability.

Skills & Experience:
- 10+ years experience in maintenance fitting, light fabrication and machinery rebuilds/installation.
- Excellent at fault finding, emergency repairs and problem solving operational and mechanical issues on manufacturing equipment.
- Experienced with motors, gearboxes, pumps, cylinders, valves and conveyors.
- Has stripped and rebuilt aluminum extrusion lines, is skilled at milling/lathe work and precise with mechanical assembly and installation.
- Very good Mig & Arc welding skills.
